I'm not the "cheapest" guy in town. I believe in honesty in life and business. I don't have a glib sales pitch. Most importantly, I work for my clients not  the Realtor,  Contractor, or Lender. I have no stake in the sale other than to make sure my clients receive the information they need to make a solid decision.

I have no conflicts of interest. I am not a Real Estate Agent; I am not a  contractor, a plumber, an electrician, or a carpenter.  Home inspectors are supposed to be generalists. I do not give referrals for contractors or individuals. I will tell you the established best methods to locate a qualified company or individual.

So, who is Stuart Brooks and what qualifications does he have to inspect my home?

I have an extensive background in construction, inspection, engineering, business management, and public relations. This is the basis for an ideal home inspection mind-set that includes:
   - A demand for professional ethics, accuracy, and courtesy
   -
An eye for detail
   -
A solid discipline of process
   -
A bulldog tenacity for investigation or troubleshooting
   -
Respect for the client
   -
A "Care About What You Do and How You Do It"  work ethic.
   -   I never stop learning
   - I am not perfect but I try to do the very best I can with every inspection.
   - When I say I'm thorough, I'm sure there will be someone somewhere that is more thorough in some aspect of an inspection.
   - When say I'm certified, registered, associated, or licensed, I am and it's current.  It's not a case where, "I was,  a few years ago".
   - A client's sex, color, language, country of origin, religion, marital status, or lifestyle doesn't effect level of my service. Everyone gets my best efforts.

Education
My formal education started with Civil Engineering at VA Tech, followed by Electronics/Electrical Technology at Germanna Community College, and continued to Computer Science at the University of Mary Washington. I must complete at  least 20 hours of continuing education every year just for home inspection plus 16 hours every 2 years for Radon Certification.

If you are searching the web for a home inspector, please be aware that this profession is no different than any other including doctors, lawyers, engineers, contractors,  tradesmen, and realtors. There are companies and individuals that could be considered excellent, some mediocre, and then there are some that are just plain poor.  I guarantee that you will not find one business that advertises, "We suck", "We'll take your money and run", "I really don't have the faintest idea what I'm doing", " All our products are junk", "Our last house fell down", "I want the deal. I don't care what it takes, or how bad you get screwed over".
